About Us:
In 1968, the face of quality education smiled on Northern Karnataka. The K.L.E. Society's College of pharmacy was established in the pleasant and peaceful environs of Belgaum. Situated a lush, verdant 100 acre campus, the college began by offering a Diploma Course. A Degree course started in 1975 postgraduate course in 1988 and a Doctoral Course in 2000.
Today the college symbolizes the meaning of quality education and professional achievement. The campus boasts of every possible amenity.Apart from an imposing main building, the college has spacious Well-ventilated furnished classroom, ultra-modern laboratories with the latest equipment such as HPTLC, HPLC, FTIR (2 Units), UV, Flame Photometer, Data Acquisition System, Silicon Graphics…In short every possible accessory to ensure the highest degree of professionally imparted education.

The college of pharmacy has been particularly fortunate to have at its helm, Dr. F.V. Manvi, who officiates as the principal. His track record speaks volumes. He was the recipient of the 'Best Principal' Award for the year 2001. 'Best Citizen of India', ' Fellow of IPA' and 'Outstanding Scientist of the 21st Century' are other laurels bestowed on him for his outstanding capabilities. He is adequately supported by well-qualified and trained staff in every Department.
The giant strides made by the college have resulted in countrywide recognition. The national Board of Accreditation AICTE, New Delhi has awarded Grade 'A' to the Institution for a period of 5 years. The college also has the credit of being one of the 5, running Under Graduate Programes which are awarded 'A' grade. The Institution has also been granted permanent affiliation to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and University of Karnataka, Dharwad. The college is also recognized as a Quality Improvement Center by AICTE. Yet another national achievement. Every Year, quality improvement workshops are conducted for teachers of Karnataka, Goa, Maharastra states.
The professional achievement and standards set by the college have bestowed on it a reputation that has travelled beyond India. The college has an agreement with the University of Sunderland, UK under which Faculty Members are exchanged, Periodically. An MOU has been signed that facilitates a long distance learning program in Pharmacy practice and Medicine Management. No efforts are spared in pursuit of the best -of-breed technologies to enhance the quality of the education. As the mark of recognition, the college has received a prestigious research project on the survey of medicinal plants of Western Ghats, from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Institution receives grants from different government funding agencies like AICTE, ICMR, CSIRETC.
Every achievement and endeavor o f the college has been prompted by the dedicated and visionary zeal of Sri. Prabhakar B. Kore, Chairman of the K. L. E Society and the Conscientious Contribution by other members of the board. As part of its future plans, the institution is working towards international Accreditation. A state-of-the-art Cell and Molecular Biology Lab, A Bio- Informatics Division, will also be added to put the college on per with other international institutions. |
